Forget all the recharging - hydrogen fuel cells will be along with hydrogen produced from seawater by wind and solar power.
Then the electric vehicles can be refuelled at the gas (literally) station as can modified IC engined vehicles....
Hydrogen fuel cells are WAY too expensive now. Take decades of research to improve. And handling the hydrogen is way trickier than electricity. And electricity doesn't require a massive brand new very expensive infrastructure be built
