I spent 2 hours taking the 1911 back apart only to put it together like I did the first time. I took a brake where I got a shower and had three fingers of a single malt Scotch. I tore it down and reassembled it in 15 minutes where it will take a magazine. Both safety's work as designed when dry fired. As an added bonus I found my Swiss Army knife that I misplaced about a month ago. It was my dad's EDC knife from the early 70's till he passed in 2008. The most used tool when he had it was the corkscrew. I started carrying it after he passed when I was stateside but would leave it behind when I traveled outside the US. I would pick up a knife in whatever country I was in to comply with local laws. They all made it back home. I had about a dozen auto knives at one point. There are a few countries that limit the max blade size to 7.5cm or a little less than 3 inches and they may allow auto open knives. During a Southern Watch mission in Kuwait I was issued a Benchmade limited Military edition Auto knife - Thank You to the Ft. Bragg SF I was supporting. It is a military only knife. The Swiss Army knife or my Benchmade Auto will be in my pocket anytime I have pants/shorts with pockets.
