Most of the prerunner ranger projects I see are 2WD. Actually all of them so far. I have no idea the origin or meaning of the name.
They were a Baja 1000 sub-class 7. The Pre-Runner should be 2wd with lots of suspension travel to take jumps. In mid/small trucks they were limited to a max engine size of 4 Liters and excess weight was cut away.
