Bad news! The truck ran well until it warmed up then the same thing. It idles at around 500 and will stall out unless given gas. I did the following: removed each wire one at a time from the coil and laid it next to the coil and went in and started the truck and got sparks. I did this for each wire and each one sparked. Now I assume this means that the the spark plug wires are attached to the plugs and working. But, I got to thinking that I should have held the wire to the plug and not the coil since the coil is new. Which i hope I don't have to do cause number 4 is a pain to get on and off.. but I also cleaned out the mass air flow and the nasty IAC valve and it is running a lot better so I hope that I'm right when I say that maybe I need to replace the IAC and/or the mass air? Or maybe just shoot it? I hate working on vehicles in the cold-my hands are like a leppers with all of the cuts and sores. And each time I start to work on one I get bloody like rocky! There has to be something simple. I mean I put $27 I to the plugs, $29.99 I to the wires, $59.99 each into the coils, $61.00 into the rear o2 sensor that was useless as the truck has no cat! About 6 bottles of gas treatment/injector cleaner. And 2 cans of brake cleaner to clean the IAC/maf. So I have already put enough I to this truck to not find the issue. I guess I'll go out and remove the wires and rei stall the old ones to check and see if the plugs are firing. If not then I guess I'll go borrow a compression checker and check each cylinder-please keep in mind that I'm driving this truck daily.
