I too enjoyed the read, as Jeep, Ford just wanted to see how many they might sell. Why make a prototype if you don't intend to sell them, someone must have thought it was viable at the time. My '88 STX 4x, when converted to 5.0L was incredible, it ran so much smoother, was great to drive, mpg was around 21 most of the time, it was what I thought was the truck Ford should have made. Too bad some of these idea didn't get to production but it is as it is.
