Change of plans: I can get the old frame blasted and powder coated for the cost of a new frame, so I'm gonna go that route. I'll strip the frame down to basically just what it needs to roll, then send it off after a while. 

Christmas is nearly here, I think I smell a 1/2 impact in Santa's toy bag :D
