Check fuel pressure at the rail
97 5.0 has two fuel lines
2000 Ranger has one fuel line
How many fuel lines does the truck have?
2 fuel lines (return style fuel) = 38 psi rail pressure
1 fuel line (returnless) = 64 psi fuel rail pressure
Do you have a theft light? Does it flash rapidly or go out when cranking?
