the wiper controls are inside the multifunction switch on a 93 Ranger https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/ford,1993,ranger,4.0l+v6,1137923,electrical-switch+&+relay,wiper+/+washer+switch,4856 Then there should be two wiper control RELAYS (these are suspect for sure) ![]() And of course the GEM module is also a part of the equation I would start by checking the relays Also check your power GROUND wire near the wiper motor.... smoke = a dead short to ground usually
