Yes, you are correct there is a plastic 90 degree elbow that locks onto the intake with a plastic clip
You will likely recognize the plastic retainer, pretty sure those 80-90s Ford fox bodies used them on the old fuel filter connections, same as my BII
Yes fuel safe hose
You can just slide the hose on if you wish, I like the 90 degree turn otherwise you are headed straight towards the hood!!!
Ill get a pic of our setup.... I had to find one of those clips.......... we use them alot around here

Taylor wires are very very good IMO, they have treated me well on these 5.0
these trucks are very picky about wires, they will chew up and spit out any cheap plug wires...there is just no room and alot of heat.
With quality wires, connections, careful routing and heat socks it is a non issue

What's that old saying around these trucks
