Every time I unclip injectors a couple of the latches break. I have never had one come off. If the rubber falls out I shove one back in there but have never had one pop off. I have been using dielectric grease on every connector I touch for years now, keeps moisture out which will corrode and destroy the crimps and terminals. I agree with replacing the connectors but don't let it keep you from firing it up. I hate getting old, after you originally posted the missing fitting on your intake I walked out to mine, opened the hood, was going to take a pic. Noticed a socket in the battery tray I had borrowed and thought I lost, grabbed the socket, closed the hood and went back in to work.
