Alright getting engine ready, truck ready, wiring ready, and trans cooler lines ready.................. first up install 5.0 explorer oil filter adapter to Jasper longblock: remove 302 oil filter adapter from block, this needs to be the explorer style piece ![]() Silly jasper, no paint allowed on sealing surfaces, not here, not today ![]() All cleaned up ![]() explorer bit installed, 1-1/4" socket ![]() Prep the rest of the explorer parts, wait there is one O ring missing Parts were cleaned and bagged by our truck owner... awesome ![]() ![]() Now I can clean behind ring and prep both O rings for install with some lube ![]() Mating surfaces cleaned, O rings in place, 98-2001 style oil filter adapter installed to block ![]() Done Now to clean and prep the explorer 302 transmission cooler lines ![]() degrease ![]() Wipe clean and clean threads and fittings ![]() Houston we have a problem ![]() You see THIS IS WHY we do not skip steps Large wear spot and hole in the feed line!! Luckily I happed to have a 5.0 feed line lying around we can use :) Bad line replaced, 3 lines ready to go Lines cleaned inside and out, prepped for paint because they were looking pretty ratty. I sprayed them with a galvanized coating to protect them and still look stock ![]()
