Am I the last person to figure this out? Life is changed forever! Stop laughing. Anyhow, when you think about it it makes sense. How tall are my tires? The first number, 205, 245, 265 whatever is the cross section in millimeters. The second number is the aspect ratio. The third number is the rim diameter. In inches go figure. A 225/60/16 would be (in inches for us on this side of the pond): 225MM * .6 (60% aspect ratio) * 2 (since the number you get is radius and not diameter) / 25.4 (metric measure to inches conversion) then add the rim diameter. 225 * .6 = 135. 135 * 2 = 270 270 / 25.4 = 10.63 10.63 + 16 = 26.63..... the diameter of the tire. It will probably be a little bigger when you buy it, and smaller when it blows and leaves you stranded but this should get you close!
