keep it simple to start
A good basic turbo 2.3 with 2.5 intercooler can make a really fun truck.
As usual with a turbo setup keeping the heat under control, head gaskets and transmission together is usually the challenge

I'm liking the new ecoboost 2.3T from Ford also, but those swaps are still $$$$$$$$$$$$
Way before that the Ford 2.3T  (1979-199 I think the Lima four banger was made?)has been finding its way into Rangers since the Ranger...1983
