I can personally tell you that the shear strength of a grade 8 bolt must be insane; This a piece of the blades we used at work to cut stone. The big center nut is only there to keep the blade from coming off the spindle, the 2 grade 8 bolts are there to keep the blade from rotating on the spindle and backing itself off as it cuts the stone....I kinda explained that weird but hopefully you get the picture. ![]() I have a size 11 boot on lol. These blades easily weigh 100lbs and cut through stone, with a giant motor spinning it. We've never sheared a grade 8 bolt. Ever.
