Curiosity got the best of me. Since the old engine was on a stand I took the heads off. Can you tell which was cylinder 4?![]() Take a look at the felpro gasket. Almost looks like it happened before it was installed, like a dent or something. The trail you see is between a water passage and cyl. 4 supporting my original diagnosis but how it happened is a mystery. ![]() ![]() So subtle yet so destructive. Good news is the heads have less than 40,000 miles and show absolutely no cracks at all. They got an oil bath for storage. ![]() For those of you that have had to buy new heads, I priced them at around 400. So I can buy a ranger with a 4.0 and bad heads lol. There was a noticable gap between pistons and cylinder wall, cylinder wall looked like glass.
