Nah, it was just super windy, so I threw away the 9mm box. I actually did a whole write up on my day: So I went to the range for the first time today in probably 8 or 9 months. Normally I shoot in the desert, but we're under a fire ban. The reason for going to the range? To try out my two new 9mm guns, [a Canik TP9SF and Taurus G2C](https://i.redd.it/lzt69xh6sj451.jpg)! For a long time my two main carry guns were my RIA Rock Standard FS in .45, and my Ruger LCP in purple. My RIA was for a long time my only hand gun in something other than .22LR, so it made it my default carry gun. I love it, but being the fluffy man I am, I don't find it comfortable to carry concealed so I wear it open, [in a bright green leather holster I made](https://i.redd.it/chal5e6axyz41.jpg). But then I started riding public transportation to and from work. Within my first week, somebody tried to rob me. So I knee jerked purchased an [LCP](https://i.imgur.com/LJzLAyH.jpg). Why an LCP? Because I could conceal it on the bus, while I ride my electric skateboard, and at work where there are big “no guns allowed†signs. Everywhere. And while I want to have a gun on me, I don't want to get fired. I could wear it on me reasonably comfortable iwb all day or sneak it into my backpack pretty easily. However. Every time I took it to the range, I was disappointed in it. It almost hurts to shoot for more than a mag or two, I don't have very big hands, but it is so small I can never get a comfortable grip on it. And accuracy? Abysmal we'll get to that in a bit. So I have been shopping a new gun for concealed carry, I also want to shoot more competition stuff. But found shooting a .45 in them was 1) expensive, 2) frustrating with only 8 round mags, and 3) a bit hard on my wrists after a long night shooting a couple hundred rounds (my accuracy would start to suffer big time). 9mm for both of these just made sense. Since I could have one ammo for both, increase capacity In both a concealed carry as well as a competition gun, spend less money overall in ammo, and have something more accurate to boot. After shopping for a while I narrowed my search down to two:Taurus G2C and a Canik TP9FS. Both feel like great value for the money based off features, and the fact that they are so inexpensive. I was looking at a few others, but after some feedback from here, and other places (youtube) I went with these two. [So went](https://i.imgur.com/F13sfJd.jpg) with [all 4 guns to the range](https://i.imgur.com/r6RuNZj.jpg). OH boy was it busy, normally in the summer after lunch time, here in AZ, the range is dead. It's 110 degrees, windy, dry, dusty, and nobody is at the range. there is even a forest fire not too far away, But due to covid, they are only using every other bench, and because of covid, and riots, there are a TON of new shooters out at the range for the first time. I don't think I've seen it that busy. I didn't shoot as much as I originally planned. There just wasn't time, or space. I left early so that somebody who showed up after me could get a chance to shoot before they shut down for the day. I also lost one of my targets to the wind, but that didn't matter one bit. I brought 4 targets for 4 guns. After losing one, I had a decision to make, which guns were I going to test accuracy with? I decided my new Taurus, The Canik, and my LCP. I started off with my LCP, shot at the lower target 12 times. 12 stinking times. How may do you think hit the target from 11 yards? If you guess is anything more than 0, your guess is wrong. That is right, from 11 yards, I didn't hit the target once. I gave up trying and decided to try out the other three guns I brought with me on pristine un-touched targets. [Here are my results](https://i.imgur.com/YIfqYPn.jpg) from the first mag in each gun. As you can see, I'm a pretty terrible shot. Upper left is my .45, upper right is the Canik with it's 18 shot mag, and the bottom is the Taurus, with it's 12 shot. [Here is the results](https://i.imgur.com/hVr8fkV.jpg) from the 2nd mag I had put a couple of rounds through each gun before I was able to set up my targets. I got there right at the end of the cease fire, so the target you see behind my yellow ones was already up, and I shot at for a bit before we hit a cease fire and I could put up targets I could see. (it was out at 50 yards, and I had to bring it in). Thoughts on each gun: LCP – This gun I think is more effective as simply existing as a gun than actually being a gun if that makes sense. The fact that I have a gun vs not having a gun at all will mean something if I ever have to pull it, but I better bet not much more than arms reach from the person I pull it on, if I ever hope to hit them. I'll do some more work with it to figure out where my point of aim is at, and improve it. Maybe. I kinda regret owning it, except, if my work ever requires me to start coming into work again (been wfh since march, and they haven't even hinted at us coming back in yet) I'll need something to carry to work still. It's biggest benefit is being purple. My favorite color. Of the 4 mags I've put through it today, I had one failure to eject. I have a feeling that was because of poor grip on my end. RIA 1911 – what can I say, it's a 1911, the trigger is amazing, I've had it well over a year now, 1500+ rounds without an issue. I love shooting it, I put 7 or 8 mags worth of bullets through it today. That's about all I would want to, especially with all the other shooting I did today. Taurus G2C – when I bought it, I was expecting it to feel smaller in the hand. But it feels good. It's about right for me with the mag in it. 12 shots doubles the capacity over the lcp, and despite being a more powerful round, has far less felt recoil, and far more accurate. The trigger is pretty long, the break is meh, but I feel like with some more practice, I can get pretty accurate with it. Sights are very usable and easy to get back on target with. I haven't looked into upgrading the trigger, but that is probably on the list down the road. Put 4 mags worth of rounds through it, 0 issues. Came with two 12 round mags. Paid
