I was going to specifically ask about the Canik. I have heard and read that they make a really good handgun.
I have only had it 2 days and put 50 rounds through it, but so far I really like it. Feels like a really solid firearm. It's also a solid value, Paid $350 for it shipped on gun broker, with that you get the gun, with good sights, case, holster, two 18 round mags, a speed loader, cleaning tools, 2nd back strap, etc.
