Problem around here is that there are few good places to shoot (this is the 3rd largest city in Indiana... WHY are there no public ranges?). So the only options are to travel to a neighboring county or take your chances at old mine property (and that is illegal). I am fixing that today. I applied for, and was accepted to become a member of the West Side Sportman's Club. Beautiful place with several range areas, archery, fishing and such. They have IDPA events at least once per month and sponsor training classes along with a host of other activities. I go for my new member orientation today at 4:00pm! Nice thing is: it is between my home and where I work, so I can stop by on my way home and pull the trigger on a few rounds anytime I want to! YAY!!! My son, ArcticWolf1911, sent in his application a couple of weeks after I did, so hopefully he will be offered a membership as well. They normally do the new member thing in January-February, but COVID-19 delayed that and I got in WAY sooner. For once, CORONA for the WIN!
