A couple of you that know me knows I got relieved of my duties after 17 years due to the covid 19 scare and the fact that everything I was designing relied on outdoor events with thousands of people gathering. I guess I should have been designing riot gear since that was more important than motorsports events. So I have been feeling out little positions here and there, I had a phone interview yesterday at a high speed packaging factory as a repair tech, which I can do. They said it would be a couple weeks and if I was considered they would set up another interview. This morning I get a call and they want an on site interview with a mechanical aptitude test monday at 2PM. What happened to 2 weeks? So am I crazy for hopping back in to the job market prior to end of July? Right now to get a job in my field (5 axis CNC programming, machine design) making what I was making I would have to choose another state. The unemployment money is super right now but it doesn't feel right. This is the longest I have not worked since I was 17. So if I take this job it is approximately a 10 dollar an hour pay cut. BUT if I wait till the end of July which most of america will all of the sudden there will be thousands more scrambling for positions. Am I crazy for not sitting it out and sucking in the large amount of cash the government is feeding me?
