I don't know, I haven't opened up a standard in years but I would if I have to. I have no fear LOL.

Do they have "synchro rings" like they used to? Last one I worked on was a muncie rock crusher out of a vette, I bought it to put in a Pontiac Astre, which is basically a Vega.

Had a 350 truck motor 4 bolt mains and a the rock crusher sitting by the Astre, then my parents moved. Like an idiot I followed them and sold it.

Dang memory lane. My Dad bought the Astre for me, owner had grafted a 231 V6 out of a skylark and never finished it. Boy did I finish it! Ripped control arm mounts right out of the frame. After extensive welding, Ended up with traction bars/coil over helper shocks/welded spider gears. Thing was wicked fast with the V6.

The friend I sold it to pulled the V6 that I had almost fried, and figured out that the olds rocket 350 was a 231 with 2 more cylinders. The 350 bolted to the trans and right up to the engine mounts. I left town before he finished it and didn't look back. I doubt if he did, he had 2 more projects... a chevette with a V8 and a 500CI cadillac hearse. Way off topic now, the hearse he was planning on putting a 4WD frame on and had already adapted the AC chamber for a beer cooler.
