So...
Been looking over both trucks and still not 100% on which direction I want to go.
I looked at the bumper/crossmember situation more closely and if I can cut the plate bumper off reasonably cleanly I should be able to weld the crossmember back on.

With the electronics/wiring  it seems the instrument cluster is part of the whole system now to avoid odometer fraud.

Which means in both previous scenario's
(swap the '07 cab sheetmetal to the '08 frame and keep all '08 electronics OR swap manual trans and all electronics from '08 to '07) I would lose the '07 lvl II instrument cluster as I have to use '08 ECM.
Unless ford dealer can "remarry" them? Or is that something any of the "tuners" can do?

Or fix the slushbox... it's not that bad, hard shift into 2nd sometimes, flare/surge sometimes (revs go up and down and doesn't seem to "grab" next gear), just all around slushy.

Aparently with a shift kit/updated valvebody they actually become acceptable to drive :)
