To prepare for upcoming new tires I felt the scratched up, rusty silver steel spokes needed a little refreshing. I pulled each wheel, knocked off the wheel weights, sanded, and washed the wheels. I spent more time on the outside as I masked off the inside. I put a shiny silver coat on them. Due to possible rain this afternoon I spent some time with a heat gun to help cure the bolt holes. I also touched up the rear drum with some black to cover up the rust. A little bit of redneck maintenance that is only surface deep but there is no more rust spots on the wheels. Three hours labor and a $5 can of paint. I order my new tires tomorrow before I hit the range.
