My son is a 1911 enthusiast. He has two at the moment, a Remington R1 (first pistol he bought and could afford) and a Kimber Raptor, both in .45ACP. Honestly, I was never a 1911 fan until he got the Kimber. That is such a smooth operating piece and the finish is awesome. Then he purchased a Savoy Leather custom holster for it. The combination is pure beauty... it is his "Sunday goin' to meetin' " carry gun. He shoots the thing like the bullets have radar built in. He plans to purchase another Kimber sometime in the very near future, the TLE II, I believe. That will become his new EDC.
