I am trying to get close to a 1050fps load with a 158 gr Coated Lead SWC with standard primers and CFEpistol powder. There is no load data as it is below a 357 Mag load and above the 38 Spl load. There is no 38Spl +P load. I am in the grey area. I will be upping the load on another batch as I maxed at 1028 fps with what I tested today. I am still a grain and a half below the MAG specs and the 1275fps max velocity. My guess is that 7.6gr of CFEp will be the sweat spot. I will find out next week. I will also be testing 38 brass with mag primers, and IMR 4227 powder with the same 158gr coated LSWC. I need to nail these down as I have a supply of 148gr coated lead, hollow bottom, wad cutters waiting for me to pick up next week.
