Heck yes its like Christmas! merc/dex or any other ATF Not Mercon V, not Mercon LV, just plain old atf I use mercon III because it is cheap and plentiful 4406 first year was 1997, mercon LV was not even out yet. Ford started using "transfer case fluid" because the dealerships only carry Mercon V and later LV after 98-99 and you cannot run those fluids in a chain driven t case. Motorcraft "transfer case fluid" is nothing more then Dextron/Mercon III
