First of all this is happening in a garage/driveway. I have a substantial collection of cordless power tools including a very large impact. I have a cherry picker, 2 floor jacks, 4 jack stands an engine stand AND help from a guy as crazy as I am just younger. I have no torch. Should I get one first? First question, pulling/planting. I'm from old school where you separate trans from engine then drop/pull. Is it easier in a garage environment to put everything together then weasel it in... what is the method most used? If cutting and welding the core support is the absolute best I will do it. I don't have a welder but I have drills and pop rivets and a really nice riv nut tool I could make it removable for future swaps LOL. No Adam we are not cutting the frame and dropping the 3.0 out the bottom ![]() I have heard it is good to take the upper plenum off the 5.0 before planting it, the last time I put just engine in with no transmission I didn't have a problem with the plenum but fully assembled is it a problem? TIA-
