The new owner wanted a few neat things, first up was to get the full size spare out of the bed and under the truck
So I modified the trailer hitch and underside of the ranger so a 32" tire will fit.
Next up was to modify the 06 running boards to make it easier to land your foot on. I extended the running boards out away from the body 2" by chop/cut/weld the running board mounts
Finally they wanted new carpet, the old 98 carpet has been cleaned but still showed its age and it kinda smelled "mildewey" so they purchased a quality aftermarket kit, ultra plush in black and I installed it.
Wow what a chore. The upholstrey work involved in PROPERLY installing the aftermarket carpet took more work then the spare tire and running board mods!
I also took care of a laundry list of little things, like cleaning up the rear slider window and seals so it slides easier, fixing slow lock on passenger door and we had a small coolant leak coming from a heater hose clamp
I love this truck! V8 Ranger is awesome! New owner is now a friend and I look forward to many more mods... they are considering a full undercoat treatment of the body, frame and suspension using Chassis saver.
I told them just to drive it for a while put some miles on those new tires! LMFAO
