I have no plans for a V* in my future for my Ranger but I can't see a Ranger planting more than 300 HP to the ground without serious mods to the wheel tubs and axle to support a wide, sticky, tire. To get more than 1 hp per cubic inch with a 302/5.0 small block gets very expensive quickly. I would think stroking  would be one of the best bang for the buck engine mods.
