Do you feel lucky? I put off doing my ball joints for over a year. On about a third of the Rangers I hear the tale-tale squeak that worn ball joints make. You will probably be OK but I would tread lightly and keep miles to a minimum. I did mine in the driveway. I had the front end on jack-stands and used a floor jack to help get everything back together. I replaced both upper and lower A arms as I had a big dent in one. Be sure to get new shocks and camber adjusters. I also went the extra mile and did new rotors and brakes. You will need to get the front end re-aligned once everything has been swapped out.
