I think if you replace the bushings with fresh the problem would go away but only for a while. The design puts a LARGE amount of pressure on that bushing and even greased to death it will not last. It is crazy I know but I was going to polish the rail a little, would probably cut the wear in half.

I have to put my window motors in this summer and make room for a speaker or two. I'll polish it and probably make bushings from Teflon.
