Yeah, but how accurate is the gauge anyway?

Our Rover has a computer on board that calculates the current range based on recent consumption and fuel volume in the two tanks - it is never anywhere near accurate but the low fuel light comes on with a couple of gallons left in there so we treat that as a "stop at next fuel station" warning though usually I refill once it gets to the half full mark.
