figured it out finally,,,,well actually @Jamman did back on page one truck is flex fuel turns out this ranger is a 99 The guy I bought it from said it was a 98, I checked the door sticker it says 09/98 I assumed it was a 98. After 2-3 trips to the junk yard in attempt to find the correct fuel tank sender (w the little black box) I still came up short So I tried an old trick, look up the previous year model and next year model parts and compare info and pictures. Punch in 99 ranger fuel tank sender on Rock auto and low and behold a flex fuel option in 99 for 2.5 and 3.0 trucks..... and the pics show the little black box Sheesh It has something to do with the fuel level sender for flex fuel vehicles I dug out the title....sure enough 99 model year I ordered one now I am hoping to fix the fuel gauge, the last issue on our 98 4.0 conversion truck ![]()
