Nope mine is in a short cab. The tab is in a different place on short cabs as long cabs AND there are 2 different dome lights for the ranger in general, one with the center light and one without. Covers are exactly the same they look the same and the one without the center light still has the reflector in the middle just no socket or no light. Seen it with my own eyes. I don't know for sure, but so far the screws (which carry the electric to this assembly) have been in the exact same location every dome I have examined expo or ranger. Can't confirm this since I have only seen a dozen or so but the evidence is real. The tabs I believe are just for speedy assembly in the factory, just break it off and you have a universal dome light. The screws were longer in my short cab than they were in the explorer, I had to use the ranger screws.
