The first pic clearly shows the valve and that it is on the hose closer to the passenger side going into the firewall.
3rd pic shows how they kinds reverse position, 4th pic is in front at the water pump.
In recap, the hose coming out of the firewall on the right (driver side looking under the hood) does not have the valve and connects to the water pump on the top.
The left hose (passenger side) has the valve and connects to the left side in the 4th picture.
