Like the internal combustion engine. That is one of those things that we continually improved but was it a good idea. Large pieces of metal changing direction 100% hundreds of times a second. ? Where is the efficiency? It's like "hey, let's come up with a design that laughs in the face of physics then over the next 100 years sell it to everyone"
We literally took a piston that was meant to be pushed by steam back and forth slowly and propelled it by an explosion.
And NOBODY has stepped up and came up with anything better for on the ground vehicles. When you have to go REALLY FAST and have enough power to propel hundreds of people through the sky what do you do it with? AN ENGINE THAT ROTATES WITHOUT RECIPROCATING PARTS.
I am just venting, I know the "why" things are as they are, oil production, money, government it all ties in. end of todays rant, spent too much time on it LOL should have been finishing the contest voting thread.
