the front part of the console in my BII is held down in the front with self tapping metal roof screws :)
The big aluminum bracket is bolted down with through bolts....right to the floor. Works great!
Don't forget you also need some clearance for the arm rest to go back when its in the up position.
I have a small collection of these consoles, tan, brown, grey, dark grey and black...
