It takes 2 people to see if it is working properly, hard to see if it is moving from inside the truck. If it isn't moving on its own you can disconnect the vacuum line and attempt to move it manually and see if that nets heat.

If no heat and it is moving it is REAL EASY with that setup to flush the heater core, take the 2 hoses off the plastic valve, the ones going to the firewall (make sure the truck has been sitting and the coolant is not hot) and simply flush it with a garden hose one direction then the other then back again, do not blow it out with compressed air unless you have a regulator and can keep it under 20PSI.

Chances are it isn't the heater valve or the core, probably the blend door but flushing the core and checking the valve is easy and should be done first.
