dye holds up very well Some of the oaints do also My dash is red, but it has been primered prepped for vinyl paint and painted with mocha colored vinyl paint....that was about 10 years ago it has held up just fine I dye snowmobile and atv parts all the time, use RIT Dye MADE FOR PLASTICSĀ and boil the plastic parts, old fuel tanks that are faded come out looking like new! Cannot color change unless it is to black, but the dye does work great on SOME plastic parts. The fabric and vinyl dyes and paints do work very well these days but as usual it is all about the prep work and using the appropriate adhesion promoter
