Off the grid is becoming more and more plausible with modern technology, there is a big up front cost for a setup like ours....but it should produce power for 10-15 years with NO maintenance (Lithium ion batteries are sealed)
Only cost is propane which we buy in the fall when its cheap, and maintenance parts for the propane generator.
The 98 ranger has been road tested, it drives awesome!
There are no vibrations up to 75, the transmission is working perfectly, the valve body that Brett built is shifting like brand new. The valve body was built to remove the "lazy factory shifting settings" and that is exactly what it is doing, this transmission is super responsive. Second gear shift is more firm then stock, downshifts are not harsh but are firm.
The 4x4 is working awesome, the exhaust sounds really really nice, there are no noises or rattles and this truck is ready for a windshield. Starts with the bump of the key, it really feels like a brand new vehicle, one of the cleanest smoothest rigs I have built and driven, I am very pleased with the results. Everyone is very impressed with these tires! This will make a fantastic truck for somebody.
