Just paid some "on the grid" utility bills.  Electric/Gas was a shade under $300 (and that was low for this time of year). Water/sewage run between $100 and $125 per month.  We dumped cable and landline phone about 3 years ago, so Internet only is $35.00 a month. I'm sure the solar and backup systems cost a pretty penny, but it would end up cheap compared to the monthly alternative that never ends and only keeps increasing.
