Thanks dudes you guys are like family to me online personalities or not, you will always be welcomed in my home and shop.

Finally got some time to mess around  with the sport trac wiring!! Yeah!
For each wire run there is like 1-2 hours of research.
Yes I have done tons of these over the years so it helps....but each one is different and require lots of research. This one is really different because it is an 02
So here is the goal, we are going to keep the 02 sport trac ignition tumbler door locks and tail gate lock all using similar key that it came with.
So far we have purchased two older style PATS transponder blank keys from Ebay and had them cut to match the sport trac key.
Now I have removed the 2000 explorer 5.0 donor PATS module and wiring pigtail
The 2000 PATS module is then wired into the 02 sport trac LEAVING the factory 02 PATS/keyless entry module in place (piggyback the new PATS system)

Here is how that is done:
2000 model pats module has 10 wires, most of them can be found under the steering column so this is a great place to locate the new 2000 pats box:

All wires were soldered and wrapped, here is the box wired in and finished:

The wires are:
WH/YE = hot all times, wired into yellow wire at ignition switch
R/LG = ACC power in start or run, wired into ACC power wire at ignition switch
BK/WH = ground, grounded to steering column frame near airbag ground wire
DB/LG = theft indicator light, Wired directly to instrument cluster, the theft light wire from the truck is CUT, this way only our new 2000 PATS module is controlling the theft light
BK/YE = RF -, wired directly to ignition halo receiver on the 02 trac this wire is BK/WH
DG/WH = RF+, wired directly to ignition halo receiver on the 02 trac, this wire is R/LG
GY/OG = Sig Receive, wired directly to ignition halo on the 02 trac, this wire is GY/OG
WH/LG = Sig Send, wired directly to ignition halo on the 02 trac, this wire is WH/LG
TN/OG = Data link, wired directly into the OBD2 port this wire is TN/OG
PK/LB = Data link, wired directly into the OBD2 port, this wire is PK/LB

Now our pats module DOES NOT have the DB/OG wire which would be the starter enable ground wire. Some PATS modules have this wire some do not. Since ours does not I will have to GROUND the STARTER relay in the power dist box. If it DID have this wire then the DB/OG wire would become the ground for the starter relay in the under hood power dist box.
So there it is, no wires were CUT (except theft light) instead the new 2000 pats module was piggybacked into the trucks existing system.

theft light wire run and installed on instrument cluster, 6th pin in on short side of the longest connector:

Just like other SOHC V6 to pushrod 5.0 conversions the tachometer ground wire needs to be re located behind the instrument cluster so that your V6 tach will read proper RPM for the V8
The ground wire is simply un pinned from one connector behind the inst. cluster and re located to the proper V8 position

Next we move to the under hood wiring:
First up the alternator, the 5.0 alternator regulator power wire and ground feed from instrument cluster battery light travel through the C115 42 pin plug on the engine side, pins 41 and 42

see the big yellow wire on pin 42 engine side? (small GN/RD is right next to it)

It is MIA on the truck side,we have a blank spot in pin 42:

The wire was removed from the 5.0 engine bay harness and will be added in:

In the 2000 model this wire (circuit 36) goes directly to fuse 14, a mini 30 amp fuse in the power dist box.

In a 2002 model it has a fusible link and goes directly to the batt feed wires at the power box
I will be adding a 30 amp fuse to the 02 box and feeding the wire to there.

more on this later today...........
