Rant:
So lets take fuel from the earth, refine it, burn it to create electricity, pipe the electricity to your new home charging station ($$$$$$) and use it to charge up your batteries, then run the vehicle on those!
(fuel/ refine / convert to electricity / pipe electricity / use to charge batteries / run vehicle on battery charge until depleted / repeat)
Q: How much additional money does it cost to charge a vehicle on the house power bill? How much to have 240 volt charge station added to house
A: ALOT $$$$ power, labor, wiring in charger is expensive!! You are putting more things on the GRID!! In California??? What a great idea

Q: Does the cost of power for your home go up or down every year?
A: UP

Q: How far can you go between charging?
A: 200-400 miles

Q: With the AC on? Stereo, wipers, headlights? Range is reduced BIG TIME with accessories running
A: half the range, 100-200 miles OR LESS

Q: What happens if the vehicle runs out of juice on your trip?
A: Stuck, need tow to nearest charge station
Bring a generator with special plug in cables? generator that runs on what, gasoline?

How much of an impact on the planet are you having when the battery cell is dead and needs to be disposed of? (HUGE impact)
People with electric vehicles are NOT GREEN, in fact MOST OF THEM are foolish! Power is EXPENSIVE, more expensive then FUEL. Electric vehicles are very expensive!! Not cheaper....
The battery cells have a larger impact on the environment over their lifetime then if you were to just buy a massive gas guzzling SUV, use it and crush it.......

I am sure there are plenty of places where a electric vehicle makes sense, like golf carts or small cars used to commute a few miles at a time = no big deal....but to think it can replace our current system and we benefit from it (saving the planet) is FOOLISH!!!!!!!!!

Q: How do the batteries, charging stations, natural gas to the power plant, vehicle parts and pieces all get to their factories?
A: Diesel shipping freighters, trains and semi trucks that run on FUEL from the EARTH.

I prefer the other method, remove fuels from earth, refine them, burn then in internal combustion engine, shop around for best fuel prices
(fuel / refine / install in vehicle and burn / repeat)

If you want to be green make engines that run on water..........it has been done, can be done and is being done....but big oil will NEVER let that happen, however they do love it when you buy power from them or their cohorts :)

Ford is only doing this because CALIFORNIA demands it and CA is 10% of the world market for vehicle sales! Cannot afford to lose 10% of the market due to libtard thinking

The Volkswagen Rabbit with a 1.6L 8 valve engine and carburetor was able to achieve 42 mpg back in the 70's, the Honda CRX and Civic were reaching 50+ mpg in the 80's! There have been many many cars capable of making over 45 mpg and have an unlimited range due to fuel stations being available EVERYWHERE

GIVE ME A BREAK!
