So, bored searching intensifying here. I can never make things easy, can I?

I'm putting together another rockauto order, and I noticed that the mirrors for 06 are specified as non heated. So, naturally I conclude that there's a heated version. Of course the Ranger never got it, but the Explorer did, I'm sure.

So I look under the 2006 explorer, and I see a mirror that looks identical, but with heated glass and a puddle light. Sweet, right? However, I'm unable to confirm if it fits or not. Doesn't seem anyone has tried, or at least hasn't posted about it anywhere if they did.

That said, I also want turn signal mirrors. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like there's an 06 mirror from Ford that does have puddle lights, heat, and turn signals. I just want everything, don't I?

Enter, Muth. They sell 06 mirror glass that is heated with a signal built in. Now if you go look, you'll only see one pigtail and that's for the signal. No connector for the heating element. The page states that all glass is heated unless otherwise specified (except motorcycles), and nowhere does it appear to state otherwise. So, I emailed them and I hope to hear back. Next thing you'll notice is the price. Yeah, ouch. $200.

I could get the glass from Muth, and a pair of textured housings with good puddle lamps from the junkyard and put them together. Junkyard mirrors would be way cheaper than new ones. New expo 06 mirrors run about $73 a side.

I'm contemplating my best option here. I don't *need* all those features, but I think it would oh so totally ramp things up having them.

If I do wind up with heated glass, then there's the issue of wiring them. Moreso the switch than anything else. I could tap it into my switch panel that has some space left in it, or I could do a bezel swap and use the expo bezel w/ expo heater switch for an OEM look.

Holy options, batman!

Oh, and Fedex says the rest of my parts will be here tomorrow (the 24th).
