You don't have to use a larger battery, the ranger battery tray wont hold the group 65, not easily. The 302 starts just fine with the smaller Ranger battery. I purchased a hydraulic crimp tool for installing my own copper lugs on battery/ power wires. I love it! Now I can make my own cables any size and length I want and terminate myself with the proper copper lug. Something to consider. Keep it up!! welcome to the wonderful world of truck conversions!
