How do you all feel about headspacing newly built firearms using new parts, specifically the AR-15 platform? I'm referring specifically to Project Vietnam, whose parts are all factory new. I'm debating whether or not I want to fork out 60 dollars for two small pieces of metal or not. Granted, this is my first build, but I look at it this way: The upper, barrel assembly and BCG are all coming from the same manufacturer, Brownells. That isn't a new name by any means, and I feel confident in that the parts are made correctly. I don't feel it necessary to headspace the rifle, but at the same time, there are those with more experience than I and may have a different outlook for reasons I haven't considered.
