There is nothing wrong with your truck. Some people strip them to save every ounce to get through the quarter mile quicker. Some people lift them to avoid rocks. Some people lower them to be able to take corners faster. Some people like nothing but bone stock, anything extra seems like fluff. Some people like to dress up their interiors and daily functions with things they like about other vehicles. Both you and I fall in this category.

I think a floor shifter would look awesome. The hump in a crown vic is way different than a ranger but you are no stranger to fab. Go for it and post the results here, I like the idea. You would need the plastic for the column from a standard ranger to get rid of the lever hole but way doable.
