air down! In sand letting a ton of air out of your tires will gain you tons of flotation and can get you out of that hole! You can take them down to about 12-15 psi and air up at the first opportunity. If you have an air compressor I am not afraid to go down to like 8 psi in sand, mud or snow...that really makes a big difference I know that has saved my a** a time or two.
