I confirmed it over the weekend... it takes 2 complete turns a side to lock my short cab, takes 1.5 turns a side to lock my ex cab.
I would associate that with the necessary amount of turn-in difference needed to match both trucks in similar driving characteristics based upon wheel base.
It's possible although albeit slight to maybe moderate if interchangeable. You may see yourself having a new learning curve going around corners at different but higher speeds or making evasive maneuvers. I would think tire size may also have an affect in reducing or inducing how that feels possibly..
