A regear will require a reflash of your computer if you have an automatic transmission. With a Detroit/Eaton or Trutrac the weak link becomes the axle. If you want a bulletproof axle get a 9" ford cut to the Ranger width and put a Detroit/Eaton or Trutrac in it.
