JAMMAN wrote:I re read your post Kaylee (after running in to you on facebook) and your life will be easier since you do have the "books". I have a coil spring 2wd Ranger. The explorer is a 2wd. So I won't have to worry too much about transfer case or anything. I plan on bolting my stock 5 speed to the 5.0. Just until I can afford a F150 5 Speed. I swapped the 7.5 Ford Ranger 4wd rear axle with 4.10 in my ranger when i was younger. Ill be taking the 8.8 out of the explorer. along with all the lines, reservoirs, and calipers off of the explorer. I'll be installing 4.88 or 5.13 ratio into the 8.8. As it'll be disk brake swap. And I can fab up the shock mounts myself. Along with leaf spring mounts. The XLT Standards cab, short bed rangers are the same wheelbase as the explorer 4 door. So the driveshaft will be the transferred from the explorer. I can find a U Joint that'll work. Or all else. Get a custom one made. Plenty of driveshaft guys here in Florida. As for electronics. I'll be pulling the gauges out of the explorer. Getting the computer reprogrammed for no PATS and for manual. I'll be repinning and basically building my own wiring harness. Fuel system return and pressure lines lines are the same. Explorer AC will bolt in from what I know
